I realized today that it had been quite some time since I’ve posted anything about Tableting. Then it struck me, I’d been using my desktop for the past 2 weeks.
(By the way, this is post #40, that qualifies as some sort of milestone doesn’t it? Let the celebration begin!)
At the moment, I am being called to do some graphic design work for 2 web projects we have where I work. I know, you wouldn’t know I do web design by looking at this site’s layout (but I really don’t feel like doing that sort of stuff in my free time, so do forgive).
I’ve been deep into Photoshop CS (ver 1), and needing the dual monitor set up I have on the desktop (not to mention larger monitors). But, there were times where I wished I had my Tablet connected in some way. I really needed to use the stylus at several points, and instead was forced to use the mouse.
At one point, I needed the stylus so much, that I fired up the tablet, used Remote Desktop to connect to my desktop PC where I had Photoshop open, and used the stylus to make my brush strokes remotely. Talk about taking the long road!
That process made me realize that I needed a Wacom Tablet for my desktop. But see, it is very frustrating to think I need to re-create the tablet experience on my desktop. At this point, I don’t do enough work on my Tablet to where a Docking Station makes sense.
Then again, maybe I need to reconsider.
